Lifeboat Labs

This page is dedicated to Labrador Retrievers in need of a "Lifeboat." The dogs pictured here need your donations for help with surgery, medications or other medical ailments. Labrador Rescuers is a grass roots organization run by dedicated and caring volunteers. We count on generous people like you to send a Lifeboat to these wonderful companions of ours who just need a second chance at life. Won't you help us send a Lifeboat to one of the dogs pictured on this page?

Ernest

Ernest was found as a stray, and was taken to the San Bernardino Shelter.  He was just about to be put to sleep when a Lab Rescuer 'Angel' stepped in and rescued this wonderful boy.  Ernest was taken right to the hospital for some much needed attention.  You see, he was extremely neglected.  He had rotten teeth, a tumor fell off his face, he had another tumor growing between his toes, and something growing on his bottom too.  His ears were so inflamed and infected that we are still, after more than two months, trying to get them under control.  Ernest is deaf, most likely due to his neglectful owners, and we found that he also has what has turned out to be a serious illness.  It is called Degenerative Myelopathy, and Ernest will lose his ability to walk some day soon.

Murray

Murray came to Lab Rescuers in November 2009 from the San Diego Central Shelter. He has lived with foster families that have provided him with all the love and care every dog wishes for while they are waiting for a forever family. On April 27, 2011, Murray was taken to an emergency veterinary hospital. The doctors think that he may have suffered from a mild seizure. Based on his behavior and symptoms, it is likely that Murray has a pituitary tumor in his brain. Murray's foster mom will continue to keep Murray as comfortable and happy as possible while maintaining his dignity.

Bailey Boo

Bailey Boo is a very special girl. She is loving, great with people and loves kids, and enjoys playing ball. Sadly, Bailey Boo has been diagnosed with cancer which has progressed more quickly than expected.

She will remain with her foster family for the remainder of her life. Labrador Rescuers will ensure that she is comfortable and will receive the medications she needs. And her foster family will provide all the love and care she deserves.

Please consider sponsoring Bailey Boo.
